Women and Children Legal Research Foundation (WCLRF) conducted a National Workshop for 20 Lawyers from Balkh, Qandahar, Kapisa and Nangarhar and 10 from Kabul on January 14, 2015. Various governmental organizations such as police, ministry of justice, judges, attorneys and prosecutors along with advocates and non-governmental organizations including AIHRC, OSA and AWEC have been invited to this workshop. The basic objective of the national workshop was to identify the attitude and behavior of relevant organizations against sexual harassment cases, to share the findings of workshops conducted in 5 provinces along with the training manual content and to share the relevant organization’s experience and approaches while confronting sexual harassment reports. The program was designed into two phases: in the first phase an introduction was presented about WCLRF and the project, then Mrs. Soraya Sobhrang, AIHRC commissioner spoke about sexual harassment, and Homa Alizoi, spoke about legislation of sexual harassment and finally Mrs. Zolfia Zalmai spoke the problems of advocates while confronting and advocating in the judicial organizations. In the second phase, WCLRF’s reporters presented the sexual harassment reports from Kapisa, Balkh, Nangarhar and Qandahar. In the meanwhile, the lawyer’s experiences and problems were shared by Lawyers while defending the victim’s cases.
